Great things take time, but Prism Kites' latest creation was worth the wait. The special edition Synthesis SE made a splash last season, but only 30 drivers were lucky enough to get it. Since then, they've been hard at work in the design studio, refining everything they loved about the bespoke SE into a production version that's as spectacular to look at as it is to drive.

From a radical new wing shape concept to a crash-resistant floating CV, new molded APA accessories, and a new way to precisely adjust your bridle, the Synthesis lets you play with design features that Prism Kites has developed in the background for years. Designing a sports kite is much more complex than it seems, and they have paid attention to the smallest details to produce a kite that they are proud to add to their long history of Innovative and beautiful sports kites.

The innovative shape of the faceted leading edge, with a 6 degree curvature at the connections, gives it more dynamism and precision in the air. On the ground, straight sections of the leading edge can flex more than a pre-curved cambered wing, allowing them to be flexed more without breaking.

The sail is carefully handcrafted from ultralight 1/2 oz ripstop polyester, low-stretch Mylar laminate, and aerospace-resistant reinforcement materials. The yards are Dynamic DT15 tapered carbon and the leading edges are 6mm pultruded carbon tubes with internal reinforcements at all stress points. Tapered carbon bars place stiffness in the center of the wing, where you want it for performance, and minimize weight toward the wingtips for quick response. 6mm pultruded carbon tubes perform better than wrapped tubes in a crash and are more affordable to replace if you hit hard enough to break one. The top cross is made of 5.3mm carbon and the wiskers are made of 3mm carbon rod.
